Our Mission
வர்ணம் — meaning "colour" in Tamil — began with a simple observation: why is it so hard to just draw with someone else online?
Most modern design software is heavyweight, locked behind expensive subscriptions, or designed exclusively for corporate teams. Casual sketching, homework collaboration, remote tutoring, and doodling with friends across time zones were overlooked.
We built வர்ணம்: a lightweight, beautifully responsive canvas where two people can create art in real-time with zero friction. No credit cards, no complex downloads — just one-click Google Sign-In, a simple 3-word room code, and a shared split canvas.
Guiding Principles
1. Radical Simplicity
No clutter, no 500-tool toolbars. We focus on the core gestures of drawing: pencil, brush, shapes, and color.
2. Independent Autonomy
Each user owns their half of the canvas and has their own independent undo/redo history. Collaboration without conflict.
3. Sub-50ms Responsiveness
Real-time sync must feel instantaneous. We engineer our WebSocket protocol to stay within human perception limits.
4. Privacy & Trust
Rooms are private to your invite code. We don't sell personal data or track browsing history.
